Song will start over when leaving, going back to app

Sometimes when I stop playback and return to app later to resume playing, the current song will restart from the beginning. It may be a phone memory issue because it seems to happen when I’m opening other apps in between pause and play again.

Yeah, that is expected behaviour. 
The app currently doesn't keep track of where in a song you paused and stopped. And when the app gets re-opened after being force closed or to free up memory, it'll start again from the beginning.
I agree that it'd be nice if it remembered the timestamp when you pause playback, so that it'll resume where you left off after the app gets restarted.
